American parents can learn from ‘happier’ moms and dads in this European country

Today’s parents are happier because they’re balancing work and child-rearing more effectively and splitting domestic duties between moms and dads more evenly. In the 1980s, moms were less satisfied with their lives than childless women, but that “maternal happiness gap” has closed, researchers found. Women with or without children reported the same levels of life satisfaction.
