It isn't just EQT that's getting a message from shareholders

It wasn't just EQT Corp. that was being sent a loud and clear message from shale-company shareholders with Wednesday's historic takeover of the Pittsburgh-based natural gas driller. The entire shale industry could glean from the EQT vote that shareholders aren't going to be patient for change anymore. Observers say the management and board change led by Toby Rice and former Rice Energy executives has put a more urgent point on what has become a bigger Wall Street focus on free cash flow and bottom-line results for the major players in the Marcellus and Utica shale industries.
