BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported another 373 coronavirus cases and 28 more deaths Saturday.

As of Saturday afternoon, there are 108,443 confirmed coronavirus cases in Massachusetts, and 8,041 people have died.

Two of the state's four public health indicators used to slowly reopen the state economy continued their downward trend from the previous day. The three-day average number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized dropped from 851 the previous day to 794. The three-day average number of deaths also dropped from 27 to 24.

The only metric that headed in the wrong direction was the number of hospitals at surge capacity. That increased from two to four. The seven-day average poositive molecular test rate remained steady at 2 percent.
