Join the neighbors of the Mabel Hartzell Historical Home for an ice cream social from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the home's gardens.

The Alliance Historical Mini Museum will be open for visitors to view local historic artifacts such as the 1910 Alliance car and the current exhibit “Advertising Novelties of Alliance Businesses.”

Admission to the gardens and Mini Museum, located at 840 N. Park Ave., will be free to all along with the sundae bar supplied by A-Town Burgers & Brews. Tours of the Mabel Hartzell Historical Home also will be available, and those interested should inquire within.

The event, which is sponsored by Astoria, Rotary Club of Alliance, Alliance Kiwanis Club and Ohio History Connection, is part of Ohio Open Doors.

Visitors to Ohio Open Doors events can discover the state's heritage, as historic sites around the state open their doors for tours and events as part of the Ohio History Connection’s annual event.

Admission to all Ohio Open Doors events is free. A list of the statewide events and activities is available at ohiohistory.org/opendoors.
