Mableton cityhood town hall is Aug. 17
Aug. 1—There will be a town hall meeting regarding Mableton's cityhood on Aug. 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Public Safety Police Training Center, 2435 East-West Connector in Austell.
The Mableton Improvement Coalition and the Austell Community Taskforce will moderate the town hall. Participants will include the Cobb County department directors of DOT, PARKS, Economic Development, Code Enforcement and the county's chief financial officer. The meeting is an opportunity for residents to have questions answered and to voice their concerns for support or opposition to cityhood.
The Mableton cityhood referendum will be placed on the Nov. 8 general election ballot. The proposed boundaries include the unincorporated areas of Austell in 30106 and 30168 and all of Mableton.
