Mac Jones facing huge opportunity to boost stock at Senior Bowl

We’ve seen it happen plenty of times before; a quarterback with tons of promise but plenty of questions, taking advantage of a week in Mobile to send their draft stock soaring.

That’s the opportunity that faces Alabama’s Mac Jones next week, as he hopes to solidify himself as a first-round prospect with a strong performance at the Senior Bowl.

Jones put up video-game numbers this season for the Crimson Tide, on his way to being a Heisman Trophy finalist and leading Alabama to an undefeated season, as well as yet another national title.

But for NFL scouts and decision-makers, there are still plenty of questions Jones will have to answer as a prospect.

Was his production due more to his talented supporting cast, or will he be able to replicate that kind of success at the next level? Does he have the arm strength to effectively make every NFL throw at all levels of the field? Can he read and process defenses quickly enough to be successful at the next level?

Jones will have the perfect opportunity to assuage any concern in these areas down in Mobile next week, but just as a strong showing could send his draft stock through the roof, a disappointing outing could have the opposite effect.
