MAC preseason football poll: Kent State picked second, Akron last in East Division

The University of Akron football team was selected to finish last in the Mid-American Conference's East Division by the media, the league announced Tuesday.

The Kent State was chosen to finish second in the division behind No. 1 Miami University.

The media chose Northern Illinois to finish first in the West Division and Toledo was picked as the runner-up.

The media predicted the Huskies would win the MAC Championship.

The MAC begins its 76th season Sept. 1.
