Macedonia man accused of making bomb threat in Key West arrested, charged with felony

A Macedonia man was charged with making a bomb threat after he was kicked out of a bar in Key West, Florida.

The 55-year-old construction worker was arrested Tuesday night on a felony charge of threatening to discharge a destructive device, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a police report, the Ohio man was involved in an altercation at Rick’s Bar, yelling at staff and refusing to leave until officers were called. He repeatedly was overheard threatening to “blow them up” after going to a second bar, which also kicked him out.

Police arrested the man outside after a security worker flagged down officers. According to jail records, the Ohioan was being held without bond at the Key West branch of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
