Macon pizza joint named one of the best places to grab a slice in Georgia

Pizza time is anytime, am I right?

Whether it’s a date night, family outing or solo night in, you really can’t go wrong with a little slice of heaven.

Just cheese, extra meat, veggie or pineapple (probably ruffling some feathers now), there’s no wrong way to enjoy pizza.

And if you’re feeling really hungry, Enjoy Travel, a travel guide website, has recently come up with their own list for the 25 best pizzas in Georgia.

On the list are classics and new joints, family pizzerias and New York Style pies, as well as Neapolitan favorites.

And good news, Maconites: a downtown pizzeria made the list.

At number 19, Macon’s very own Fatty’s Pizza was recognized for its delicious pizza and southern hospitality.

Fatty’s Pizza, a popular pizza joint in downtown Macon, has moved into its new downtown location at 587 Cherry St. where it has more room to grow.

“Fatty’s Pizza is at the heart of Macon and is perfect for families or date night. At Fatty’s you’ll find that all of their pizzas are served with fresh quality ingredients and their staff is just as good. They are friendly, genuine and know their way around a thin-crust,” according to the website.

Fatty’s Pizza is located in downtown Macon, but there is also another Macon location on Tom Hill near Riverside Drive.

If you’ve been to Fatty’s Pizza before, you know all about their offerings. But if not, here’s a quick preview:

From their delicious pizzas such as Supreme, The Lousy Hunter (veggie pizza), The Mother Klucker (chicken pizza) or The Hot Klucker (hot chicken pizza) to their delectable calzones, wings, salads and desserts–you’re sure to find something that satisfies.

Although Enjoy Travel’s list mostly consists of pizza places in Atlanta and Savannah, there is one more pizza joint representing Middle Georgia pizza lovers: Deano’s Italian in Dublin made the list at number 14.
