JOPPA, MD — As the holiday season approaches, Macy's is staffing up, including at its distribution center in Joppa. More than 1,000 full- and part-time positions are available at Macy's Joppa Fulfillment Center, where workers will receive, sort, pick, pack and ship online orders.
Multiple shifts and positions are available, from forklift drivers to warehouse workers.
The company is holding three in-person hiring events and is also accepting online applications.
About one-third of its leaders started with Macy's during the holiday season, according to a statement from the company.
Macy's employees will be offered competitive hourly pay, discounts on merchandise, flexible scheduling, the potential to earn bonuses and a bilingual work environment, officials say.
To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Macy's will conduct daily wellness checks that include temperature checks and screening questions. Macy's provides employees with face masks and will clean high-touch surfaces like equipment, countertops, break rooms and restrooms.
The hiring events will be held at Macy's Joppa Fulfillment Center, 3300 Fashion Way, Joppa, MD 21085, on these dates and times:
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26
Before the hiring event, candidates are encouraged to submit applications online to get a response by email. They may also interview over the phone. Candidates can apply and find jobs online at macysJOBS.com.
In 2019, Macy's reports about 1,000 seasonal positions became permanent.
