MSNBC Monday night ratings have trended upwards for two weeks in a row, with Rachel Maddow leading MSNBC’s 25 to 54-year-old demographic for two consecutive weeks.

A total of 2.43 million viewers tuned in to watch her weekly show on MSNBC, beating Hannity on Fox News who had 2.34 million viewers during the same period, according to ShowBuzz Daily.

Sean Hannity, a far-right pundit, has established himself as one of the dominant personalities in the 9 p.m. time slot on cable television.

On Monday, Maddow spoke about the deadly mass shooting in Louisville. Additionally, she discussed the controversial decision by a conservative judge to restrict access to abortion drugs and the ongoing drama in the Tennessee House of Representatives. Further, during the previous week, she had also been talking about right-wing extremism in the country that targeted drag events and transgender people for harassment.

As of 2022, Maddow decided to step back from her eponymous daily show, allowing Alex Wagner to replace her as the host of the 9 p.m. hour from Tuesday through Friday after Maddow had renegotiated her contract with the network to permit her to take on more creative roles in the future.

Maddow has been working on several projects over the past year, including a blockbuster podcast, Rachel Maddow Presents: Ultra, released in October. The project focused on American resilience after insurrectionists and a team of far-right extremists infiltrated Congress and conspired to help actual Nazis in the late 1940s and early 1950s, a period when they were relatively active in the country.

Frequently, Maddow returns to prime time on nights when her show is not airing for significant breaking news or other important events taking place in the news.

In addition, she led a team of anchors in re-capping the events of the day’s proceedings during the evenings of the House Select Committee hearings on January 6th. She is also part of a team of journalists who break down election night results for MSNBC.

Fox News has come under intense scrutiny after explosive revelations recently that its most prominent voices and leadership knew that claims of election fraud and Dominion voting machine shenanigans were false and entirely made up, but proceeded to broadcast misleading information to viewers in an attempt to please them and keep the audience that was moving to other stations like Newsmax and One America News.
