  • Us Weekly sources claim that Maddox Jolie-Pitt doesn’t consider himself to be Brad Pitt’s son anymore.

  • Maddox and his brother Pax reportedly don’t spend as much time with the whole family.

A few years before Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie officially confirmed they were a couple in 2006, Angelina adopted Maddox. During her and Brad’s 11-year relationship, Brad officially adopted Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and welcomed Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne with Angelina. But three years ago, when Angelina and Brad decided to divorce, there were reports that Brad and Maddox got into an altercation while flying on a private plane. Now, Us Weekly sources claim that Maddox and Brad’s relationship hasn’t improved since then.

According to their sources, 18-year-old Maddox “is very close with Angie,” but he “doesn’t really see himself as Brad’s son.” While there were claims that Brad was allegedly “inebriated” on the private flight and during the incident with Maddox, the FBI and Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services cleared him of all allegations. Brad also went to therapy and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and took drug and alcohol tests to prove he should still retain partial custody of the kids.

Still, it seems Brad and Maddox’s relationship is strained, and apparently, neither Maddox nor his little brother Pax went to Brad’s house to open Christmas presents last year. According to US Weekly sources, they “refused to go.” Maddox’s decision was allegedly partially because he has a “simmering resentment” against Brad but also because he’s a teenager with his own life.

The source added, “[Maddox and Pax] spend more time with their friends and are busy doing their own thing. They spend less time than they used to with the younger kids and the family.”

This situation sounds incredibly stressful and sad, if true, but hopefully the kids are able to figure out a scenario that works best for them.
