Madigage's passing rocks SA

The passing away of Bafana Bafana assistant Thomas Madigage has made for a Black Friday in South African soccer. Madigage, famous for wearing his Zion Christian Church apparel throughout his time as assistant to SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt, where the pair won three Premiership trophies, was a much-loved character on the local scene. Jomo Cosmos was where a young Madigage first caught the eye, making his debut as a 16-year-old for Jomo Sono's team. He established himself as a top-class attacking midfielder and went on to move to Europe with Swiss side FC Zurich. Madigage returned to South Africa and again played for Ezenkosi, although unfortunately his career was cut short by injuries, though not before he was capped by Bafana. The 41-year-old was respected for his achievements as a player, his success as a coach, and above all, his standing as a good human being. Tributes have been pouring in from all corners of the globe for the late Madigage, here are some of them: Robert Marawa: "Memories of a footballing genius who shunned the limelite but attracted it due to his amazing ability with the ball.
