Madison County Judge Hugh Harvey arrested for DUI, possession of handgun

Madison County General Sessions Court Division I Judge Hugh Harvey was arrested Wednesday night for driving under the influence, and possession of a handgun while under the influence, according to arrest records.

The incident occurred just before midnight, with Tennessee Highway Patrol officers responding to the scene.

After being booked at the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex, Harvey was transported to the Chester County jail where he was released at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.

No bond has been announced yet.

Harvey, who was re-elected in the August election, has been in the position since September 1998, and has presided over a number of notable cases in the county.
