Those participating will get in-depth information from law enforcement officers, criminal investigators, recruiting/training staff, the District Attorney’s office and the forensics team. This allows them to “gain knowledge and expertise in these diverse areas of law enforcement.”

The sheriff’s office says that this program is a great opportunity for people interested in a law enforcement career or just want to learn more about how your local justice system works.

Citizen’s Academy is open to all members of the community and the surrounding areas on a first-come, first-serve basis — provided that they are eligible and able to commit to the program’s requirements.

Madison County residents will be given first-priority registration. Attendance is free, but class sizes are limited.
