Madonna is dealing with serious health issues. What does that mean for her Miami shows?

Madonna appears to be on the mend after being hospitalized for a bacterial infection in New York.

“She’s back home and feeling better,” a source tells PEOPLE exclusively on Thursday.

In an Instagram post Wednesday, Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, broke the bad news:

“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, but she is still receiving medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

A couple of her kids (she has six) were snapped by paps walking outside the 64-year-old pop icon’s upscale digs on the Upper East Side of New York on Wednesday.

A relative told UK gossip site The Daily Mail that her condition was quite serious, having been found unconscious, rushed to the ICU at a NYC hospital and intubated overnight.

“For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,” the family member said. “Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation.”

It is not known exactly what body part of hers is affected. According to the Cleveland Clinic, common bacterial diseases include UTIs, food poisoning, STIs and some skin, sinus and ear infections. The most common form of treatment is a course of antibiotics.

TMZ reports that Queen of Pop had been experiencing a low-grade fever for some time without seeing a doctor.

Despite the fact that Madonna appears to be better, it’s hard to know how she’ll be doing by late summer when she comes to South Florida.

Madge’s latest Livenation tour, Celebration, was originally set to kick off in Vancouver on July 15, and make two Miami stops — Sept. 9 at the Kaseya Center and then a more intimate show at the PAMM the next night.

If you have tickets for the local venues, our suggestion is to hold on to them, and wait. Because everything is now up in the air, according to her management.

“We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows,” added Oseary.
