Iconic pop star Madonna wore a Ukrainian flag during the inaugural show of her “Celebration” world tour at a London stadium, belting out the classic hit “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.”

The globally renowned artist conveyed her solidarity with Ukraine as her world tour took off at the O2 Arena stadium in London on Oct. 14.

The megastar delivered an electrifying show comprising over 40 chart-toppers, including timeless classics like “Ray of Light,” “Like a Prayer,” and “Holiday.” Madonna was among the first international celebrities to condemn Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine back in February 2022.

Madonna also touched upon her near-fatal illness earlier in the summer during the concert, speaking to her fans from the stage.

“I didn’t believe I would make it, and neither did my doctors,” the star said, as reported by the BBC.

The artist also expressed deep sorrow over the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip, saying it was “heart-wrenching to witness. My heart aches for the suffering of children, teenagers, and the elderly.”

The concert was made up entirely of a collection of Madonna’s greatest hits. Adorned in vintage costumes and featuring archival footage, the artist guided her audience through the journey of her illustrious career.
