Maenles celebrating 50th anniversary

SAMARIA – Ronald C. and Vickie A. (Kauffman) Maenle of Samaria are observing their golden wedding anniversary today. An open house is planned at the Dundee Senior Center.

The couple was married Sept. 22, 1973, at Zion Lutheran Church, Petersburg.

The couple has one daughter, Melissa Maenle of Petersburg, and two grandchildren.

Mr. Maenle worked for 36 years for General Motors in Toledo. He also had been a janitor at Zion Lutheran Church, Petersburg.

He served an E4 in the Army’s 2nd Armored Division. He is a member of the dartball league at their church, the American Legion and Dundee Senior Center. A graduate of Ida High School, he enjoys hunting, fishing and camping.

Mrs. Maenle worked for JoAnn Fabric and Crafts, Homewood Suites of Maumee, Cabela’s, Knobby’s Bi-State, Monroe County Community College, Olga’s Kitchen, Independent Dairy, Air Seal, McDonald’s of Dundee, retiring from JoAnn in Toledo. She also had volunteered for Ida Schools.

A graduate of Bedford High School, she studied accounting and data management at MCCC.

She is a member of the Monroe Quilt Guild, Dundee Senior Center and Frenchtown Center for Active Adults. She enjoys fishing, camping, quilting and crafts.
