Dan Bongino, the ultra-conservative personality and steadfast Donald Trump defender, is done at Fox News.

Bongino, 48, said he and the network simply couldn’t agree on a new contract. “It’s not some big conspiracy,” he said Thursday on his podcast. “There’s no acrimony. This wasn’t like some WWE brawl that happened. We just couldn’t come to terms on an extension.”

Bongino had hosted “Unfiltered With Dan Bongino” on Saturdays nights since 2021. He had been a regular Fox News contributor and guest for a decade. The last episode of “Unfiltered” aired on April 15.

“They did give me the opportunity to do one last show,” Bongino said. “I don’t want you to think they showed me the door, that’s on me, not on them. But I just thought it was best to kind of go this way for now.”

Bongino’s Fox Nation show, “Canceled in the USA,” will also end, and his radio program will no longer be streamed through Fox Nation.

During his time at Fox, Bongino was known for his unwavering support of Donald Trump — through election denying, COVID mismanagement and more — as well as his screaming matches with Geraldo Rivera.

“You’re an out-of-control lunatic,” Bongino told Rivera during one memorable blow-up on Sean Hannity’s show.

Earlier this week, Fox paid $787 million to settle a defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems. The voting machine company claimed the network intentionally damaged its reputation by amplifying Trump’s election fraud claims.

Despite his support of those claims, Bongino was not involved in the lawsuit and not expected to testify. He said Thursday that his departure had nothing to do with the settlement, though he acknowledged the “timing’s not great.”
