Disney Cruise Line's first new ship in 10 years was built with enchantment in mind. The company used that as a motif when dreaming up the Disney Wish, the cruise line's Senior Vice President and General Manager Sharon Siskie told USA TODAY.

"If you think about enchantment, that's to some degree at the heart of almost every Disney story," she said. "And so what we did was thought about how you pull through, across the Disney Wish, this idea of almost magic around every corner."

The ship, which was christened last week at Port Canaveral, is packed with immersive entertainment and culinary experiences and activities. With more than 1,200 staterooms – with four royal suites and a 1,966-square-foot penthouse inspired by "Moana" –  passengers will sail alongside characters from Disney, and, Marvel, and "Star Wars" stories, according to a press release.

Disney Wish will set sail on its maiden voyage on July 14 to the Bahamas, where it will continue to sail during its inaugural season. Here is what guests can expect.

What attractions will the Disney Wish have?

The AquaMouse water ride, which Siskie said is the cruise line's first Disney attraction at sea, incorporates animated Mickey Mouse shorts and has more than 700 feet of twisting tubes. The ride is also situated in a Mickey-themed area with six pools, per the release.

Other interactive entertainment options include Hero Zone, where families can play games in a sports arena, and Disney Uncharted Adventure, which incorporates augmented reality as guests explore the ship and the worlds of various characters.

There are also musicals at the Walt Disney Theatre, and clubs for kids of all ages.

What will the food on the Disney Wish be like?

One of three main dining rooms, passengers can visit the "Frozen"-themed Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, which features live entertainment and Nordic-influenced food, according to the release.

At Worlds of Marvel, diners can participate in a meal-time Avengers mission, and 1923, named for the year The Walt Disney Company got its start, features a vintage aesthetic and serves up dishes inspired by California cuisine.

There are a variety of other dining options on board, too.

Will there be activities for adults?

Like other Disney Cruise Line ships, the Wish is not just for kids. A number of spaces on board are reserved for grown-ups, including Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, a bar built to resemble a spaceship, and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, a three-Michelin-starred chef, the release said.

There's also Senses Spa, which has the cruise line's first outdoor spa area.

"We put as much energy, effort, and attention the adult spaces as we do the kids," Siskie said.

How much does the Disney Wish cruise cost?

A three-night cruise on the Wish for two adults and two 5-year-old children starts at $2,975, according to the cruise line's website, though prices vary depending on a number of factors including the age of the kids, time of year, and more. Guests can view availability and book a trip at DisneyCruise.com or through a travel agent.

Along with new offerings, the ship features familiar Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
