Golden Brick Award

The Magic and their partner, AdventHealth, were recognized with the Downtown Orlando Partnership Golden Brick Award for the team’s AdventHealth Training Center taking home its Award of Excellence.

The Downtown Orlando Partnership awarded 15 Golden Bricks at its annual luncheon earlier in May with projects nominated for community and development that positively impacted downtown Orlando in 2023.

In August 2022, the DeVos family, Magic and AdventHealth unveiled the AdventHealth Training Center as part of the Magic and AdventHealth’s commitment to health and wellness. The downtown facility serves as the Magic’s training site and sports medicine hub for Central Florida.

The Golden Brick Awards is Downtown Orlando Partnership’s exclusive annual awards celebrating the people, projects, and initiatives that propel downtown forward.

Alex Martins honored

Magic CEO Alex Martins was selected as the recipient for the 2023 Chairman’s Award of Excellence, which was presented by Osceola Heritage Park.

The honor was unveiled as part of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission’s list of 67 finalists for the 2023 SPORTYS: Greater Orlando’s Night of Champions.

Martin also was named a finalist for the Executive of the Year award. Nine other Magic staff members were named Sporty finalists.

The 2023 SPORTYS will honor sports business professionals whose contributions and impact are vital in the Greater Orlando area. The show will air and the winners will be revealed on WKMG-TV News 6 and stream online at 7 p.m. on June 17.
