Magician Joshua Jay to perform benefit at Canton Country Day School

PLAIN TWP. – Joshua Jay, an internationally popular magician, will perform a "Night of Magic" benefit show April 1 at Canton Country Day School.

The evening will consist of an hour-long show by Jay, a Canton Country Day alumnus who has performed in more than 100 countries. Jay has performed magic on numerous television shows, including appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and "The Late, Late Show with James Corden." He was awarded the top prize at the World Magic Seminar and has tricked Penn & Teller on their hit show, "Fool Us." In addition, he holds a Guinness World Record in card magic.

Jay also appeared at former President Barack Obama's 2008 Inaugural Ball, and delivered private performances for former President Bill Clinton. In 2020, he was named "Magician of the Year" by the Society of American Magicians Parent Assembly for his contribution to the art of magic. He has designed illusions for stage and screen, including a collaboration with HBO for it hit series "Game of Thrones." He also consulted with the United States Postal Service on the design of their "Magic" postage stamp series.

Jay is the author of several books, including the best-selling "MAGIC: The Complete Course," and his latest, "How Magicians Think."

The event will include food and drinks, opportunities to get photos with Jay, and a chance to purchase a signed copy of "How Magicians Think." There also will be private tours of the school and information on enrollment.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $150 each. Just 200 will be sold. Call the school office at 330-453-8279.
