Magician turns Minecraft into a surreal 3D world

This magician’s unique approach to the art of deception redefines what it means to be an illusionist in the digital age.

Matdeuh is a “magic creator” who integrates visual effects into his tricks. The French magician uses digital editing and Adobe software to do things like, jump out of his own computer screen and make his hand glove come to life on Instagram and TikTok.

For one trick, he brought a new dimension to Minecraft. Matdeuh made it appear as though the popular game was in 3D so that it looked like he was interacting with the game elements in real life.

To pull off the illusion, he placed his laptop displaying the game on his dining table. Rails emerged from the computer screen and ran across the table. Then a Minecart moved along the tracks to deliver a blue diamond to Matdeuh who was busy using real-life wooden blocks to make a tower. He plucked the digital diamond from the Minecart and placed it on top of his creation. But suddenly a green monster, or creeper, materialized. The tower collapsed and Matdeuh walked away, defeated.

Matdeuh’s video shows how technology has made it easier to blur the lines between reality and virtual reality. Thus, taking magic tricks to a whole new level.

The Minecraft video garnered 1.2 million views on TikTok.

“Ah, our friends the creepers… We still love them so much!” one user joked.

“Dude, you’re a genius!” another wrote.

“How do you do this? This is crazy!” one person added.
