Roger E. Mosley, best known for playing helicopter pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin opposite Tom Selleck on “Magnum, P.I.,” died Sunday from injuries sustained in a car crash, his daughter announced.

He was 83.

“He was surrounded by family as he transcended peacefully. We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name,” his daughter, Ch-a Mosley, wrote on Facebook.

“It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”

Mosley, who grew up in public housing in Los Angeles, made his TV debut in 1971 in the crime drama “Longstreet” before starring in several movies that decade, including “Leadbelly,” “Hit Man,” “The Mack” and the John Wayne flick “McQ.”

But Mosley became a household face after “Magnum, P.I.,” the 1980s crime drama TV series in which he starred in more than 150 episodes across the show’s eight-season run. He returned to the brand for two episodes as a new character, John Booky, in a 2018 CBS reboot.

He also played Coach Ricketts in the 1990s sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” and had appearances in shows including “The Love Boat,” “Night Court,” “RoboCop,” “Starsky and Hutch” and “Sanford and Son.”

Last week, Mosley was “involved in a major car accident” that left him in critical condition and paralyzed from the shoulders down, his daughter said Saturday.

The actor is survived by his wife, Antoinette, and three children.
