Washington State Patrol is investigating after a person was killed when the mail truck they were driving went into a ditch near Elma Wednesday morning.
According to WSP, the driver, a 25-year-old Seattle man, was heading westbound on State Route 8, approaching milepost four just before 10 a.m.
The mail truck hit the guardrail several times before leaving the roadway and “vaulting into a stand of timber,” state patrol said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
