Main Street Kent is hosting its third annual non-competitive fun run on April 22.

The MSK 5K is back for another year, giving runners the perfect opportunity to get out and about after a winter spent cooped up inside.

Participants can run, jog, walk, take their dogs along or bring the kids — all are welcome.

The event begins and ends at the section of the Portage Hike & Bike Trail running alongside North Water Brewing.

It is being hosted by Main Street Kent. Sponsoring the third annual non-competitive fun run is North Water Brewing Co., Portage Community Bank,  Auto-Owners Insurance and the Hall-Green Agency.

Check-in for preregistered runners is 9 a.m. April 22 at North Water Brewing Co. at 101 E. Crain Ave. The race begins at 9:30 a.m. Rain or shine, the 5K will proceed and no refunds will be issued.

With only 200 spots available, early registration is encouraged. Register online for $30. For an additional $15, runners can purchase a commemorative T-shirt as long as they register and place their shirt order by April 14.

Entrants will receive the following with the cost of registration: a race bib, commemorative beer glass, one beer or non-alcoholic beverage, and a $10 MSK 5K gift card to spend at any participating Kent establishment.

Afterward, all are encouraged to enjoy a refreshment from North Water Brewing and to patronize the businesses in downtown Kent.
