Major accident investigation underway on Garden State Parkway in Barnegat; expect delays
BARNEGAT - A serious motor vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway on Thursday night has forced authorities to close the shoulder and two lanes of traffic, as an investigation is underway, according to the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred near mile marker 68.5 and has been causing major delays throughout the evening hours.
Motorists are advised to continue to expect delays in the area, the sheriff’s office said in an electronic alert to the public at 6:54 p.m. Thursday.
