Major Accidents Reported + Dulos Case Update: CT News

Good morning. Connecticut,

Temperatures begin to slowly warm-up on Tuesday. Temperatures will rise into the low 40s under cloudy skies, mid 40s and sunshine on Wednesday, colder on Thursday with high temperatures only into the upper 30s, and even colder on Friday. Wrong-way fatal crashes leads to action on the part of the state

A total of six people were killed in two fatal wrong-way crashes in Meriden and Hartford this past weekend. WTNH News 8 reports that the state is about to take action to try and make it less likely that wrong-way crashes can happen in the future.

The state Department of Transportation plans to "deploy wrong-way detection systems with flashing red lights at 15 high-risk locations across the state," News 8 reports. They go on to say that a warning system of some sort is on the table too. (Read More at News 8).


Dulos case update

Hearst CT reports that the attorney for Michelle Troconis is appealing a judge's ruling that prohibits access to a transcript from Jennifer and Fotis Dulos’ divorce proceedings. The transcript in question focuses on a "family court psychological evaluation report on the Dulos family," according to Hearst CT. Troconis' attorney claimed in a legal filing that the transcript should never have been sealed and should be released publicly, Hearst reports. Troconis' next court date is scheduled for March 29. Beginning on March 4, you can get a free "classic donut" at Dunkin' on Fridays during the month of March with a purchase of a beverage, WTNH News 8 reported. The offer is being made in support of the UConn Huskies basketball team during March Madness. (Read More at News 8).


Coronavirus update for CT

The coronavirus infection rate from the past weekend was 2.58 percent as there were 1,012 confirmed cases out of 39,153 tests. The number of hospitalizations dropped by 47 to 188. Less than two months ago, Connecticut was nearing 2,000 COVID-19 related hospitalizations.
