Major Snow Kicks Off Ski Season in Utah's Cottonwood Canyons

Heavy snow quickly built up in parts of Utah on Wednesday, November 9, prompting ski resorts in the state to announce earlier-than-usual openings, local media said.

Footage posted to Twitter by Solitude Mountain Resort shows near-whiteout conditions at the ski resort on Wednesday afternoon.

The resort said it received “22 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, and we can’t wait any longer.” Solitude Mountain Resort said stated two lifts would open on Thursday afternoon – more than a week earlier than planned. Credit: Solitude Mountain Resort via Storyful
