If your tipple of choice is a G&T, prepare to get very excited as the doors have just been flung open on London’s biggest ever gin bar.
Imaginatively titled, The Gin Bar, the pop up waterhole at Holborn Dining Room is stocked with over 400 varieties of the clear stuff and promises a juniper-infused extravaganza for lovers of the zingy drink.

From locally brewed gins from London-based distillers to fancy pants gins that cost an eye-watering £50 a pop, if gin’s your thing, this is the place to be.
Serving a range of 27 branded tonics, as well as a secret signature tonic made in-house, The Londonist calculates that punters will be able to choose from 14,035 possible gin and tonic pairings and a whole menu’s worth of gin-inspired cocktails.

The opening comes as London is in the grips of a ‘ginassaince’. Last year gin sales in the UK were expected to top £1bn for the first time, as punters swapped vodka for a double shot of gin from a new wave of artisanal distilleries. Last summer gin lovers everywhere were thrown into turmoil as news broke that the juniper plant, essential to the production of gin, is in danger of dying out. Gah!
Thankfully it seems this new opening is proof that juniper production is back on track *breathes a sigh of relief*
