HOLLAND — Nearly eight months after unexpectedly closing its Holland location, a competitive swimwear shop is trying again, this time opening on Douglas Avenue.

Making Waves USA was originally located in downtown Holland at 211 S. River Ave. — but closed at some point in April 2022.

It's unclear when exactly the new store — located at 90 Douglas Ave. — opened, but a late October social media post by Making Waves USA listed the new location because it was taking part in a company sale. Making Waves declined to comment for this article.

"We are not closing our store," the business wrote to The Sentinel when asked about landlord/tenant dispute court proceedings involving the business in early 2021. A sign on the door in April read: "We are closed."

Making Waves’ company website still lists the Holland location as 211 S. River Ave. It also lists locations in Berkley, Michigan; Walnut Creek, California; Campbell, California; and Portland, Oregon.
