Malibu Offers Free Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing

MALIBU, CA — The city of Malibu will offer free drive-thru COVID-19 testing Saturday amid a major omicron-fueled spike across the country.

Residents can get tested Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at City Hall, located at 23825 Stuart Ranch Road.

Saturday's clinic will offer PCR nasal-swab tests with results coming by Sunday or Monday. Register for Saturday's testing online before you arrive.

"Widespread testing is a crucial way to slow the spread of COVID-19, fight the pandemic and protect the most vulnerable people from this deadly disease,” said Mayor Paul Grisanti in a news release. “I am proud that the City can offer this free testing service, and has done so numerous times throughout the pandemic.”

The city previously held a drive-thru clinic on Saturday.

The city had 1,794 positive cases as of Sunday, 135 more cases than just a week before, according to Los Angeles County public health data. While the county's ongoing surge may be starting to slow down, the county is still facing extremely high rates of COVID-19-related hospitalizations and deaths, according to the department of public health.
