Malvern boys rise, Marlington girls remain in top 10 of Ohio high school basketball polls

The Malvern boys basketball team moved up two spots to No. 8 in this week's Associated Press Division III state poll.

Malvern (18-1) wrapped up a fourth straight Inter-Valley Conference North Division championship with a win over East Canton last week. The Hornets then beat Newcomerstown in their final IVC North game to finish 12-0 in the division.

Marlington fell one spot to No. 6 in the Division II girls poll. The Dukes (18-2) earned a share of the Eastern Buckeye Conference championship last week. It is their third straight league title.

Carrollton was 12th in the Division II boys poll. The Warriors (19-2), who have won 17 in a row, earned a share of the EBC championship with a win over Minerva on Friday.
