Mama's Minerals comes to Indian Pueblo Cultural Center's Avanyu Plaza

Nov. 26—Avanyu Plaza has a new tenant: Mama's Minerals, New Mexico's largest rock and bead store.

Laura Randolf started her business in 1985, selling crystals, gemstones and geodes at arts and craft fairs around the Southwest in 1985. She opened her first storefront in 1990.

Currently, Mama's Minerals is located at the Sawmill District at 800 20th NW, but will move next year to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center business district. The Avanyu Plaza location will open in early 2023 on Menaul and 12th.

"Coming to Avanyu Plaza was a natural choice for us," Randolf said in a release. "The location and their support of local businesses is what sold us on moving here."

Mama's Minerals joins other tenants like the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Laguna Burger, Sixty-Six Acres, Itality Plant Based Foods, Rude Boy Cookies, and U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union.
