Man, 28, charged with murder in road rage shooting in Orange County, deputies say

A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with a Friday night road rage shooting, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Geno Davis was arrested and suspected of shooting and killing Carlos Mojica, 52, after Mojica crashed into the back of Davis’ vehicle at the intersection of Claracona Ocoee Road and N. Orange Blossom Trail just before 7 p.m., according to a Saturday news release.

While trying to escape the scene, an injured Mojica then caused another accident, according to deputies.

“After the vehicles collided, the suspect exited his car and shot at the victim’s vehicle, striking him,” the release said. “While attempting to drive away, the gunshot victim struck another vehicle.”

Mojica died from his injuries at a local hospital, deputies said.

Davis did not leave the scene and was later charged with second-degree murder.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
