A 28-year-old man was found dead stuck inside a Manhattan elevator shaft, police said Sunday.

The victim was discovered lodged inside the shaft between the first and second floors inside a building on Lafayette St. near Walker St. about 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, cops said.

First responders pulled his body out of the shaft, police said.

The man’s name was not immediately released. Police were not sure how he came to be lodged inside the shaft.

The victim’s cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, but no criminality is suspected at this time, police said.

The building houses a Popeyes Chicken restaurant, a 99-cent pizza parlor and a few small stores.
