Man, 35, shot on Stevenson Expressway, officials say

A 35-year-old man was shot and critically wounded on the Stevenson Expressway on Saturday afternoon on the city’s Southwest Side, officials say.

The shooting occurred about 5:15 p.m. on Interstate 55 southbound at Kedzie Avenue, Illinois State Police said, citing preliminary information.

The Chicago Fire Department responded to a call of a person shot about 5:15 p.m., Chicago Fire Department Chief Juan Hernandez said. A 35-year-old man was taken from the Pulaski exit ramp to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

About 6:30 p.m., all southbound lanes remained closed for the investigation, police said.
