Man, 56, killed in hit-and-run on Southwest Side

CHICAGO — A 56-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle on the city’s Southwest Side.

The hit-and-run happened around 11:45 p.m. Sunday in the 6300 block of South Pulaski. Police said the man was crossing the street eastbound on 64th Street, when witnesses said he was struck by a red Toyota Camry traveling nortbound on Pulaski at a high-rate of speed.

According to police, the vehicle did not stop. The possible Illinois registration number of the vehicle is: V455842.

The man sustained major head and body trauma and was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim has been identified as Charles Mills.
