Man, 75, beaten, stabbed by stranger during Bronx clash: NYPD

A 75-year-old man was kicked, slashed and stabbed on a Bronx street during a clash with a stranger, police said Friday.

The senior was walking along Freeman St. near Southern Blvd. in Longwood about 6:30 a.m. on May 8 when the unidentified suspect stormed up and started arguing with him, cops said.

A moment later, the suspect kicked the senior to the ground, then slashed him in the face and stabbed him in the back.

The assailant then ran up to the elevated Freeman St. station nearby and fled the area by train.

EMS rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police said the suspect was standing near the corner, then started arguing with the victim as he walked by. It doesn’t appear that the two men knew each other, police sources said.

Cops on Friday released surveillance images of the suspect in the hopes someone recognizes him. He’s believed to be in his mid-20s to early-30s, about six-foot tall with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a black jogging jacket with white stripes, grey pants and white sneakers.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
