Man accused of assault found with loaded firearm in Fairfield

(KRON) – A man was arrested after allegedly assaulting two people on Thursday, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Fairfield PD was dispatched to a residence on East Alaska Avenue on a report of domestic violence around 10:18 p.m. on Feb. 8. Police said the person who called authorities explained that a man she knew assaulted her, pointed a gun at her, and pushed her friend. Officers received a description and the vehicle of the suspect.

Officers located the suspect’s vehicle on westbound Travis Boulevard at 10:25 p.m. Police initiated a felony stop and took the man into custody.

A loaded firearm with an extended magazine was found in a search of the vehicle. The suspect was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

The suspect’s identity is being held to protect the victim’s identity. According to police, a protection order was approved and served.

The suspect was booked into Solano County Jail.
