Chandler police are asking the public to help find a man they say defrauded an elderly woman out of thousands of dollars.

Police identified the man as Joe Miller, but he is said to go by various names and may not be currently using that name.

According to police, Miller showed up to the woman's house in May and claimed he worked for the American Automobile Association. He told the woman that her car's wheel nuts were damaged and one wheel appeared to be "about to fall off." He offered to fix the damage for $3,700 in cash, police said in a press statement.

The woman and Miller drove to a nearby bank, where she withdrew the cash, but Miller never fixed her car, said police who identified him using bank surveillance footage.

The Chandler Police Department is offering a $1,000 reward to anyone with information on Miller's location. Additionally, if anyone else has been a victim of Miller's fraud schemes, call the Chandler Police non-emergency line at 480-782-4130.
