Man accused of ‘screaming, threatening’ with samurai sword in Walmart parking lot

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Vancouver police have arrested a 43-year-old man they say threatened people on the street and wandered into a Walmart with a samurai sword Sunday evening.

Officers say they started to receive calls that Ravi Saxena had been walking in traffic with the sword when he came upon the Walmart parking lot at 430 SE 192nd Avenue and began “screaming and threatening to hurt people.”

Authorities say officers arrived just after Saxena walked inside, so they quickly began evacuating the store while they tracked him down. After he surrendered to police, authorities say they found he had also been carrying a 5-inch pocket knife.

Saxena faces charges of felony harassment, dangerous weapon and displaying a weapon.
