He was not armed, but he did have the keys to the vehicle on his person, and Channel 2′s Tom Regan discovered that he also shoplifted from the Five Below store.” said Conyers police Sgt. Quantavis Garcia.

DeAndre Lewis, 33, is accused of stealing a large linen company box truck on Peachtree Road in Buckhead on Monday and driving to College Park. There, he allegedly sideswiped a car on Old National Highway.

“That’s how fast we thought he was going. We thought we were going to flip over inside the car and my son was in the car. In the back seat. It was terrifying.” said crash victim Dearia Williams.

Another driver told Channel 2 Action News the box truck struck his work truck in downtown Atlanta and drove off.

On Tuesday, the owner of the linen company asked the public for help finding the driver.

“He is very dangerous. He needs to be stopped,” said Best Linen Company President Patti Strickland.

Police said Lewis is currently being held in the Rockdale County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property.
