As a result, police locked down the school. Officers arrested the suspect at his apartment, and no guns were found.

The suspect was charged with terrorizing and an outstanding attachment for failure to appear in court. Police said his identity wouldn’t be released to protect the identity of a child.

“The safety of our children will always be a top priority. The quick actions and response by both Abney Elementary and the responding officers should be commended,” said Chief Randy Fandal.
