Southaven Police said Damron has warrants in Mississippi.

Damron also has a criminal history of numerous violent offenses from Calloway County, Kentucky including unlawful imprisonment, assault second degree under extreme emotional disturbance, wanton endangerment, and burglary third degree.

When he was arrested Monday, he was on probation in Kentucky.

Police say the scene is now secure and there is no threat to the public. However, neighbors were left shocked and scared because they had no idea what was going on.

“Never saw, heard, or could think nothing like that could go on next to me. Like I stay right here. That’s kind of scary,” one neighbor said.

WREG noticed a boarded-up window and a sign on the door, letting us know that a chemical agent was sprayed in the home on Dela Drive. The note is dated on Monday, just a short time after Southaven police were called to the street.

This is the second incident in less than a year, that the SWAT team was called to the neighborhood.

Back in August, a man was shot dead by a SWAT officer just around the corner.

The neighbor says once is a fluke, but twice is concerning and he’ll be watching his surroundings a little more closely moving forward.

“Hearing that, it’s kind of questionable. Because you never know what could happen if that is right next door to you,” the neighbor said. “You never know who you’re living next to, so that is kind of surprising, kind of shocking.”

At this time, the relationship between the suspect and the victim is unknown.
