Man who allegedly threatened church employee with box cutter arrested

(KRON) — A man who police say threatened a church employee with a knife was arrested Monday, the Redwood City Police Department said. Redwood City PD officers were dispatched to 1300 Middlefield Road on the report of a person threatening an employee of Street Life Ministries Church with a knife.

The reporting party who witnessed the incident, according to police, followed the suspect. The suspect was identified as Jorge Orozco, 29, of Redwood City.

Officers located him in the area of Spruce and Chew streets. Police were able to detain him without incident. A box cutter was found on his person.

After being positively identified by the victim and two witnesses, Orozco was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for felony assault with a deadly weapon. No one was injured during the assault, police said.
