Man arrest for alleged shooting at PA music festival
BETHLEHEM, LEHIGH COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Investigators announced an arrest has been made after a shooting occurred at a Pennsylvania music festival in Lehigh County.
According to the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, 22-year-old Joshua Nathaniel Colon, of Bethlehem, was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred in 2022 at Musikfest in Bethlehem.
On August 13, 2022, at 10:38 p.m., police responded to a gunshot fired in the Plaza Tropical section of Musikfest. The victim, a 20-year-old man was shot once in the stomach.
An investigation determined the shooting occurred during a dispute between two groups and was therefore not a random act, police stated.
Arrest made, various drugs seized during traffic stop
Colon has been officially charged with the following;
Aggravated assault
Receiving stolen property
Firearms not to be carried without a license
Person not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer firearms
Recklessly endangering another person
Musikfest’s 10-day festival is often attended by more than one million people each year. Police, other first responders, and festival organizers work diligently to make safety a priority.
In 2022, the year this shooting occurred, there were a total of 21 arrests and none were for felony offenses, officials noted.
