A man has been arrested and bailed after an eight-year-old boy died in a collision.

Lennix Sutcliffe was close to his home in the quiet cul-de-sac of Woodland View in Dilton Marsh, Wiltshire, when he was hit by a motorist pulling into a driveway.

Police and paramedics raced to the incident, but he died at the scene on 14 April.

Wiltshire Police Serious Collision Investigation Team is now "following several lines of enquiry".

'Complex' investigation

A police spokesperson said: "The families involved in this tragic case are being supported by their Family Liaison Officer and the investigation team.

"The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, was arrested after the incident on suspicion of causing death by careless driving but was released under investigation.

"The investigation process is complex and may take some time to complete."

'He simply loved life'

Speaking after Lennix's death, his parents Jackie and Chris said: "Our Lennix was always playing, a happy go lucky child who was loved by everyone and who loved everyone.

"He simply loved life and was the light of our small village.

"He loved Pokémon and his favourite character was Charizard.

"We as a family are now coming together to support one another.

"We ask our community to provide us both time and space in the days, weeks and months ahead of us."
