Man arrested in El Salvador for triple murder in Prince William County

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Prince William County Police Department said that on Jan. 22, it was notified that the suspect wanted in connection to the murders of three men, and the injury of a fourth man was taken into custody in El Salvador.

The man was identified as 28-year-old Donald Antonio Barahona Quinonez. He was taken into custody in El Salvador by the Special Forces of the National Civil Police.

Prince William County police is working with federal partners and authorities in El Salvador to secure Barahona Quinonez’s extradition back to the United States.

Barahona Quinonez is being charged with 3 counts of murder, 1 count of aggravated malicious wounding, 4 counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and 4 counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

On May 26, 2023, officers responded to a residence located in the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave. in Woodbridge to investigate a shooting.

Police said a group of individuals were inside the home when one of the occupants started shooting and hit four people.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found four people who had been shot.
