Man arrested in connection with Homewood shooting that left 1 dead, 1 injured
A man was arrested on Tuesday after a fatal shooting in Homewood, according to Pittsburgh police.

Police arrested 19-year-old Khatrell Haynes-Morgan in connection with the shooting.
According to the criminal complaint, Pittsburgh police were dispatched to the intersection of Frankstown Avenue and Brushton Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert for 11 rounds. Dispatch told responding officers that a man was down in the street and a caller indicated that they had been shot.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and was later identified as Glenn Davenport. Police found him lying in the street with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
A woman was also shot in the arm. She was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Eleven 9mm shell casings were found on the scene near Davenport, according to court documents.
According to the criminal complaint, officers interviewed the second victim at the hospital. She said she was waiting for a ride at the bus stop at the intersection when she heard multiple gunshots. She ran to Denise and Earl’s Bar at 7709 Frankstown Avenue and tried to get inside.
The criminal complaint said she didn’t know she was shot at the time. Her sibling told her that she was hit.
The victim said that she didn’t see the shooter but she heard the shots coming from her right side near Betts Market at 819 Brushton Avenue. She also said she didn’t see Davenport get shot but did see him lying in the roadway, according to the criminal complaint.
The day after the shooting, detectives recovered video footage from Denise and Earl’s Bar and another nearby business, ARCO Housing. From this footage, police saw Haynes-Morgan standing on the wall of the side of ARCO Housing, less than a block away from the intersection the shooting happened at.
Haynes-Morgan then walked toward the intersection, according to the criminal complaint.
In the video retrieved from Denise and Earl’s Bar, police saw Davenport and a second unidentified male. Haynes-Morgan then came into the frame and the three appeared to interact with one another, with Davenport standing between the unidentified male and Haynes-Morgan.
According to the criminal complaint, Haynes-Morgan then pulled out a gun and began shooting at Davenport, who ran away. Davenport ran a short distance and then collapsed on the road. Haynes-Morgan and the unidentified man then fled the scene.
An officer from the Wilkinsburg Police Department reviewed the footage and realized the shooter appeared to be Haynes-Morgan, whom he was familiar with from a prior incident. Other officers who knew Haynes-Morgan from a previous investigation and multiple encounters also identified him from the footage, the criminal complaint said.
Haynes-Morgan previously pleaded guilty to robbery, which disqualified him from possessing a firearm. He also didn’t have a concealed carry permit or sportsman permit. He’s unable to get a concealed carry permit because of his age, according to the criminal complaint.
Haynes-Morgan is charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and firearm violations.
